Questions about the counter
What is a durood counter?
It is a digital tasbih. You tap once for each time you say your darood or dhikr, and the counter keeps the total, so you do not have to count on your fingers or lose your place.
Does the counter save my count?
Yes, in your own browser, and only there. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. If you clear your browser data, the counts are cleared too.
Is there a fixed number of times to read darood?
The Qur’an and the hadith quoted on our Darood Sharif page set no fixed number. Many people choose a number such as 100 to stay regular. That is a personal habit, not a rule.
What is the usual count for the tasbih at bedtime?
The Prophet ﷺ taught Fatimah and ‘Ali to say “Subhan Allah” thirty-three times, “Alhamdu lillah” thirty-three times and “Allahu akbar” thirty-four times when they went to bed (Sahih al-Bukhari 3113 and Sahih Muslim 2727). Choose each counter and a round of 33, then 34.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tap the large circle. If your phone supports it, it vibrates on each tap and again when a round is complete; you can turn that off.
